Update Fiery server system software through Command WorkStation

You can update Fiery server system software from a client computer or locally at the Fiery server.

You will need the Fiery server name or IP address to connect to the Fiery server in Command WorkStation.

Note: The client computer must have an active internet connection to perform the Fiery server system updates.
Note: For best results, install updates and patches when no jobs or actions are in progress on the Fiery server or in Command WorkStation.
  1. Start Command WorkStation.
  2. Open Device Center in one of the following ways:
    • Click the More icon (three vertical dots) next to the server name in the Servers pane.
    • Double-click the server name in the Servers pane.
    • Click Server > Device Center.
    • Right-click the server name and select Device Center.
  3. In Device Center, click Fiery Updates > Updates.
  4. To view and install the available updates, click Updates under Fiery Updates, then click Update in the right pane for each update you want to install.
  5. To view the available patches, click Patches under Fiery Updates.
  6. Select the patches to install.

Any required patches will be automatically selected when you select a patch.

  7. If a message about Fiery API displays, click OK to install Fiery API.

Fiery API is required to perform patch installations with Fiery Updates.

  8. Click Update to install the selected patches.

The Fiery server must be restarted after installing every Exclusive patch.

Note: You can install multiple non-exclusive patches along with each exclusive patch.
  9. Click OK to restart the Fiery server after installing updates and patches.
Note: After the restart, the administrator must reconnect to the Fiery server in Command WorkStation.
Note: Command WorkStation connected to a Fiery server displays a notification when the patch installation is in progress.
  10. To view a list of the installed updates and patches, click History under Fiery Updates.
