To enhance visibility in highlight or shadow areas that are hard to see because of exposure or lighting problems, you can use the following Highlights & Shadows settings to make them more visible:

• Auto enhance highlights and shadows - Calculates optimal highlights and shadows values and automatically applies the values to the image, updating the Highlights and Shadows settings.

  Note: If the image is already optimized or nearly optimized, you may not notice a difference.

• Highlights - Enhances the details in highlighted portions of an image to make the details more visible.

• Shadows - Enhances the details in areas of shadow to make the details more visible.
