Fiery Central Printer Groups

A printer group is a set of printers and default print options. Printer groups allow the Fiery Central server to route jobs to printers and balance them across multiple printers.

Fiery Central may have multiple printer groups. If the optional Balance module is installed, the printer groups may each contain multiple printers, and each printer may belong to one or more groups.

Note: Fiery Command WorkStation 6.7 and later supports Fiery Central with a single printer group. If you have more than one printer group, only the first group will be available.

A printer group appears on the network as a virtual printer, and has both Print and Hold queues. Jobs printed with the Fiery Central printer driver, Fiery Hot Folders, or other printing utilities associated with the printer group can be tagged with any of the print options provided by printers in the group.

Note: Fiery Command WorkStation 6.7 and later does not support the creation of signed printer drivers for printer groups.
