Correct red eye

Red-Eye Correction analyzes the image and attempts to identify and correct red-eye.

You can select an area to correct and adjust the area by increasing or decreasing its tolerance. To correct red-eye in your image, follow these steps:

  1. Select the image that you want to adjust.
  2. Under Red-Eye Correction, click On.

The application analyzes the image and displays a rectangular marquee around the areas that it determines to contain a red eye.

  3. Do one of the following:
    • To delete a Red-Eye Correction area, click the red X at the corner of the marquee.

    • To manually create a Red-Eye Correction area, make sure Red-Eye Correction is On and then click and drag in the image to create a marquee.

    • To resize a Red-Eye Correction area, drag a handle on the marquee.

  4. Adjust the degree of Red-Eye Correction by increasing or decreasing the Tolerance to a value that just eliminates the red eye. Tolerance applies to all Red-Eye Correction areas in an image.
    • Increase Tolerance to make the red-eye mask larger.

    • Decrease Tolerance to make the red-eye mask smaller.

  5. To hide the marquees after you finish Red-Eye Correction, select Hide Marquees.
Note: Red-Eye Correction is still applied when the marquees are hidden.
