Export the Media Catalog

When a media catalog is exported, it is saved as an .xml file.

Before you replace your Media Catalog or reinstall system software, we recommend that you first back up your existing catalog by exporting it to a remote location. You can choose to export all entries or a subset.

After a catalog is exported, it can be imported back into Media Catalog at any time.
Note: It is generally not recommended to import Paper Catalog entries to the Media Catalog. If imported, they may not produce the desired result.
  1. In the Media Catalog window, click Export on the toolbar and choose Export All.

If you only want to export some of the media entries, you can select multiple entries in the Media Catalog and choose Export Selected. You can shift-click to select sequential entries, or ctrl-click to select nonsequential entries.

  2. Navigate to the location on your computer or network where you want to save the exported file.
  3. Enter a name for the exported file; then click Save.

The exported Media Catalog is saved as an .xml file.
