Mix specialty color and spot colors

You can edit a spot color with a specialty color component. For example, you may choose to edit or define a spot color with CMYK + silver component by specifying the amount of specialty colorant.

  1. In Spot Pro, select a spot color and click the Edit icon ().
  2. Select the Color Definition tab.
  3. Edit the spot color separation (%) values.

The preview patch will display an exclamation mark within a circle () as a visual indication that the patch has some specialty color in it.

When you edit the specialty color value, the preview patch shows the new color.

Note: A green check mark () is shown next to the spot color group name if a specialty color was added to one or more spot colors and turned on for the group. A yellow exclamation mark () is shown next to the spot color group name if a specialty color was added to one or more spot colors and turned off for the group.
  4. Click the Reset icon () to undo your changes.
