Print to virtual printers from Windows

Virtual printers allow you to print with predefined job settings.

Contact your administrater for the IP address or DNS name of the virtual printers on your network to ensure that you can print to the virtual printers.

Update the installable options

To print to a virtual printer from a Windows computer, you must make sure two-way communication is enabled and update the installable options.

  1. Locate the virtual printer in the location where your printers are listed..
    Note: Common locations for printers on different operating systems include Devices and Printers, Printers and Faxes, Printers and Scanners, and Printers.
  2. Right-click the virtual printer and choose Printer properties.
  3. Click the Installable Options tab and make sure that Two-Way Communication is enabled.
  4. Click Update.

Print a job

You must select job settings to print to a virtual printer from Windows.

  1. Open the file and select File > Print.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. Make sure that the Fiery Printing tab is selected, and click the tabs to select job settings.
  4. After you specify the settings, click OK and then Print.
