Configure SLP

The Service Location Protocol (SLP) is a service discovery protocol that allows computers and other devices to find services in a local area network without prior configuration.

Important: There are two versions of Configure and they are specific to the Fiery Server you are connected to. This is a combined procedure that describes what to do when connected to a Fiery Server with FS100/100Pro or earlier, and notes about what to do with FS150/150 Pro or later. If you are not sure which version of Configure you are using, see Which version of Configure am I using?.
  1. From Configure, choose Network > Services > SLP.
Note: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, you can find settings mentioned in this procedure in Network > Service Location Protocol (SLP) instead.
  2. Select Enable SLP.
  3. Define an additional Scope to be included with the published SLP services.
  4. Apply or save your changes.
