Configure LDAP

If your Fiery Server supports this option, you can configure the Fiery Server to communicate with corporate information servers at your organization by means of the LDAP protocol.

Important: There are two versions of Configure and they are specific to the Fiery Server you are connected to. This is a combined procedure that describes what to do when connected to a Fiery Server with FS100/100Pro or earlier, and notes about what to do with FS150/150 Pro or later. If you are not sure which version of Configure you are using, see Which version of Configure am I using?.

The Fiery Server can access lists of e-mail addresses to be used with features such as sending scan jobs to e-mail.

Note: The time difference between the LDAP server and the System Time of the Fiery Server (Server > General > Date and Time) must be five minutes or less.
  1. From Configure, choose Network > Services > LDAP. If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, you can find the settings mentioned in this procedure in Network > LDAP.
  2. Click Configure LDAP.
Note: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150 Pro or later, skip this step.
  3. In the LDAP Configuration window, select Enable LDAP.
  4. Type the server name or IP address of the LDAP server.

The LDAP server IP address and host name must be registered on the DNS server.

  5. Type the port number for communicating to the LDAP server.
  6. To require secure communication, select Secure Communication (SSL/TLS).

The Fiery Server automatically determines the type of communication that the LDAP server supports and connects accordingly.

  7. If authentication is required, select Authentication Required and then specify the type of authentication.
  8. Type the user name and password for connecting to the LDAP server.
  9. If you selected GSSAPI as the authentication type, type the domain name for the LDAP server in the Domain field.
  10. In Advanced Options, for Search Base, type the location where the Fiery Server searches to locate the LDAP server. To verify the search base location, click Validate.
  11. In the Maximum Entries field, type the maximum number of entries that the Fiery Server accepts from the LDAP server.
  12. In the Search Timeout field, specify the maximum amount of time that the Fiery Server spends in attempting to communicate with the LDAP server.
  13. Apply or save all changes.
