Configure FTP

Enabling FTP services allows users to send jobs to an FTP server so that other users can share those jobs.

Important: There are two versions of Configure and they are specific to the Fiery Server you are connected to. This is a combined procedure that describes what to do when connected to a Fiery Server with FS100/100Pro or earlier, and notes about what to do with FS150/150 Pro or later. If you are not sure which version of Configure you are using, see Which version of Configure am I using?.

The Fiery Server supports an FTP proxy that uses the connection format "target_username@target_system_name / target_username@target_ip_address". Other connection types may not work properly.

  1. From Configure, choose Network > Services > FTP.
Note: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, click Job Submission > FTP Printing instead.
  2. Select Use FTP Passive Mode for outbound connection if you are using an external FTP server.
  3. Select Enable FTP Printing.
  4. In the Default FTP Queue list, select the print connection on the Fiery Server to which FTP jobs are sent.

In addition to the standard print connections Print queue and Hold queue, published virtual printers (if supported by your Fiery Server) are also listed.

  5. To require a valid user name and password to print a document, select Require Password for Printing.

The user name and password must be authorized by the administrator.

  6. Specify the FTP timeout.
  7. Apply or save your changes.
