Allow the Fiery server to obtain its TCP/IP address automatically

For the Fiery Server to obtain its IP address automatically, you make specifications about the protocol. You can have the Fiery Server obtain the gateway address automatically or manually.

Important: There are two versions of Configure and they are specific to the Fiery Server you are connected to. This is a combined procedure that describes what to do when connected to a Fiery Server with FS100/100Pro or earlier, and notes about what to do with FS150/150 Pro or later. If you are not sure which version of Configure you are using, see Which version of Configure am I using?.
  1. From Configure, choose Network > Protocol > TCP/IP > Ethernet.
Note: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, you can find settings mentioned in this procedure in the following locations instead:
    • Network > IPv4 Address
    • Network > IPv6 Address
  2. In the Select IPv4 Address section, select automatically.
Note: This setting can obtain both the IP address and gateway address for the Fiery Server, or you can choose to set the gateway address manually.
Note: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, select Automatic instead.
  3. If your network uses IPv6 addresses, select Enable IPv6.
Note: While it may be possible to disable IPv4 and enable IPv6, IPv4 must be enabled for IPv6 to work.
Note: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, click Network > IPv6 Address and select Enable IPv6 Address instead.
  4. Choose whether to obtain the gateway address automatically or manually.
Note: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, you must perform this action from Network > IPv4 Address. Configure IP Address must be set to Manual first and your must type an IP address in the Default Gateway field manually.
  5. Apply or save your changes.
