Enable SNMP to allow remote access to Configure and other Fiery Server features.
Important: There are two versions of
Configure and they are specific to the
Fiery Server you are connected to. This is a combined procedure that
describes what to do when connected to a
Fiery Server with FS100/100Pro or earlier, and notes about what to do
with FS150/150 Pro or later. If you are not sure which version of Configure
you are using, see
Which version of Configure am I using?.
- From Configure, choose .
Note: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, you can find settings mentioned in this
procedure in instead.
- Select Enable SNMP.
- To restore the Fiery Server to its original SNMP settings, click
Restore SNMP Configuration.
Note: If SNMP settings have been changed since you loaded the
SNMP page, you must click Restore SNMP Configuration before you
make changes.
Note: If you are
connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, click the
Restore button instead.
- From the Security Level list, select one of the following:
Minimum -
Corresponds to functionality in SNMP version 1.
Medium -
Offers more security for SNMP version 3.
Maximum -
Most secure setting for SNMP version 3.
- Type the names for Read Community and Write Community.
- To specify a user name that does not require authentication
or encryption with the SNMP server, type the name in the Unsecure
User Name field.
- To specify a user name that requires authentication or
encryption with the SNMP server, type the name in the Secure User
Name field, and specify the following information:
User Authentication Type (MD5 or SHA)
User Authentication Password - the password for reading
MIB values based on the secure user name
User Privacy Type - type of encryption (DES or None)
User Privacy Password
- Apply or save your changes.
