Configure DNS

Configure DNS settings to allow the Fiery Server to resolve a name to an IP address.

To allow the Fiery Server to obtain a DNS address automatically, you must first allow the Fiery Server to obtain its own IP address automatically.

Important: There are two versions of Configure and they are specific to the Fiery Server you are connected to. This is a combined procedure that describes what to do when connected to a Fiery Server with FS100/100Pro or earlier, and notes about what to do with FS150/150 Pro or later. If you are not sure which version of Configure you are using, see Which version of Configure am I using?.
  1. From Configure, choose Network > Protocol > TCP/IP > DNS.
Note: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, you can find settings mentioned in this procedure in Network > IPv4 Address instead.
  2. To obtain a DNS address automatically, select Get DNS Address Automatically.

To assign DNS server IP addresses manually, clear this option.

Note: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, set Configure DNS Server to Automatic instead.
  3. If you are manually assigning DNS server IP addresses, type the primary DNS server IP address, secondary DNS server IP address, and domain name.
  4. Apply or save your changes.
