Set Sequential Print options in Configure

You can configure the Fiery Server to maintain the job order on certain jobs sent from the network.

Important: There are two versions of Configure and they are specific to the Fiery Server you are connected to. This is a combined procedure that describes what to do when connected to a Fiery Server with FS100/100Pro or earlier, and notes about what to do with FS150/150 Pro or later. If you are not sure which version of Configure you are using, see Which version of Configure am I using?.

This lets you keep jobs together in a sequential run, as specified by a time-out interval. The Sequential Print queue can also be published on the network for other users to access.

In Configure, an Administrator can turn on Sequential Print, specify how long to wait between jobs in the sequential run, and publish the Sequential Print queue on the network.

  1. Click Server > Configure to open the Configure dialog box.
  2. In Configure, click Printer > General.
Note: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, you can find this setting in Job Submission > Sequential Print.
  3. Select the Enable Sequential Print check box.
  4. Specify the Timeout interval as desired.

The time-out interval defines how long the Fiery Server should wait for the next job in the sequential run, before timing out and considering the run complete.

Setting the time-out for a long period may result in the Fiery Server locking the system from processing other files after the last file in the sequential run was spooled.

  5. Select the Publish Sequential Print Queue check box if you want the queue to be available to all users on the network.
  6. After you have changed the setting for an option, do one of the following:
    • On FS100/100 Pro or later: Click Undo or Apply.
    • On FS150/150 Pro or later: Click Cancel or Save.
  7. Restart the Fiery Server.
