Print to virtual printers from Windows

Virtual printers allow you to print with predefined job settings.

Contact your administrator for the IP address or DNS name for the virtual printer because virtual printers are published on the network.

Update the installable options

To print to a virtual printer from a Windows computer, you must make sure two-way communication is enabled and update the installable options.

  1. Locate the virtual printer in Devices and Printers. The location may be called Printers and Faxes, or simply Printers.
  2. Right-click the virtual printer, and choose Printer properties.
  3. Click the Installable Options tab and make sure that Two-Way Communication with the Fiery server is enabled.
  4. Click Update.

Print a job

To print to a virtual printer from Windows, you must select job settings.

  1. Open the file and select Print from the File menu.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. Make sure that the Fiery Printing tab is selected, and click the tabs to select job settings.
  4. After you specify the settings, click OK, and then click Print.
