Mix specialty color and spot colors

You can edit a spot color with a specialty color component; for example, you may choose to edit/define a spot color with CMYK + silver component by specifying the % for the specialty color.

  1. In Spot Pro, select a spot color and click the Edit icon ().
  2. Select the Color Definition tab.
  3. Edit the spot color separation (%) values.

The preview patch will display an exclamation mark within a circle () as a visual indication that the patch has some silver/gold/specialty color in it.

When you edit the specialty color value, the new color is shown as the converted patch color, which is a preview patch of the original color mixed with the specialty color.

    Note:

A green check mark () is shown next to the spot color group name if a specialty color was added to one or more spot colors and turned on for the group. A yellow exclamation mark () is shown next to the spot color group name if a specialty color was added to one or more spot colors and turned off for the group.

  4. Click the Reset icon () to revert to the original value of the spot color when created, which is shown in the Original.
