Add JDF job media to the Paper Catalog or Media Catalog

When a JDF ticket is submitted to the Fiery server, the server attempts to automatically map the specified media for the JDF job with a corresponding entry in the Paper Catalog or Media Catalog on the Fiery server.

If automatic media mapping fails, you can view the JDF job media in the JDF ticket and manually select a paper catalog or media catalog entry for the job.

  1. If you want to add the media used in the JDF job, select it from the JDF ticket and add it to the Paper Catalog or Media Catalog in the Media tab of the Job Properties window.
  2. Depending on what is supported on your Fiery server, select one of the followoing:
    • For Paper Catalog, select Add/Map to Paper Catalog from the Map to Paper Catalog menu.
    • For Media Catalog, select Add/Map to Media Catalog from the Map to Media Catalog menu.

Resolve media conflicts in JDF jobs

If a JDF ticket uses media that cannot be automatically mapped to the Paper Catalog or Media Catalog, Command WorkStation displays an error for the job. You can add the media for the JDF job to the Paper Catalog or Media Catalog to resolve the problem, either by mapping it to an existing media entry or adding it as a new entry.

  1. Right-click the selected JDF job and select JDF Settings or click Actions > JDF Settings.
  2. Select Fix the JDF conflict.
  3. In the Media tab of the JDF Settings window:
    1. For Paper Catalog, select a corresponding media entry from the Map to Paper Catalog menu or select Add/Map to Paper Catalog, and click OK.
    2. For Media Catalog, select a corresponding media entry from the Map to Media Catalog menu or select Add/Map to Media Catalog, and click OK.

The parameters of the media specified for the JDF job are listed alongside the parameters of the Paper Catalog or Media Catalog entry selected. You can now print the job.
