Adjust the image position

The Image Position pane provides precise control over the vertical and horizontal positioning on both sides of the printed material. Additionally, it offers a visual preview of the final printed result in the Image Preview window.

If the printer is not 100% registered, adjusting the image position can help correct for any misalignment between the front and back when printing on both sides, or to adapt for finisher behavior such as hole punching or binding, or to fix jobs with fundamental offset issues. While tray alignment makes adjustments for all print jobs, Image Position allows for individual changes to be made for each job.

  1. To enable image position in Fiery ImageViewer, select the Offset check box from the Image Position tab in the Viewer Controls pane.
  2. Select the units used for offset from the Offset Unit menu.
  3. Enter positive or negative values for X and Y to adjust the position of the front and back sides of the sheet. To shift the front and back sides together, select the Align front and back images check box.
  4. To display the visual preview of the adjustments to both sides, select On from the Overlay menu in the Front and Back Overlay pane. This reduces the opacity of the front and back so you can see the effect of the adjustments to the front and back of the page. You can independently adjust the opacity of the front and back with the Front opacity and Back opacity sliders.
  5. To make the front and back content easier to see, select one of the following options in Display mode:
    • Continuous tone to view the front and back in their printed colors.
    • Custom to view the front and back in custom solid colors. Click on the color box for Front color or Back color to change the colors used to display the front and back content.
