The Spot Pro workspace

The main window displays a list of spot color groups and a list of named spot colors within each spot color group. When you select a named spot color, Spot Pro shows a preview of the selected spot color.

The Spot Pro main window includes the following areas:

  • Spot Pro group pane

The order of the spot color groups defines the search order for the spot color on the Fiery server.

Spot Pro spot color groups cannot be automatically sorted by name, type, or lock status.

Spot Pro lists the newest spot color group first.

By default, the Fiery server searches for a color starting from the top of the list and applies the first matching named spot color definition to the job. You can override this search setting on a job-by-job basis by selecting a different group in Job Properties.

You can manually move each spot color group up or down to change the color search sequence.

  • Spot Pro colors pane

You can adjust the column width.

  • Spot Pro color preview pane

For the selected spot color, the color preview pane shows a preview of the spot color, the gamut warning, ∆E, and separation values. The color preview pane also has controls for editing and duplicating spot colors.

You can right-click one or multiple spot colors and select Duplicate to duplicate them.

  • Spot Pro color editor pane

You can edit the selected spot color by modifying the L*a*b* values, LCH values, or device separation based on the selected output profile, or you can print variations of the spot color and choose a variation.
