Import jobs using the Sign Flow Option

You can import jobs and specify the number of copies as well as the print order for each job using the Sign Flow Option feature.

Keep in mind the following:
  • Nesting, and Step and Repeat are not supported.
  • Ordering of jobs when printing is allowed. The Sign Flow Option supports ordered printing for RTL file format, single-sided PDF files, and pages of a multipage PDF file, only if the workflow is set to split a multipage PDF file into single jobs and these job types are imported in parallel with a Sign Flow Option .txt file.
  • Only supported together with EFI VUTEk printers such as HS125, h3/h5, and VUTEK XT, or EFI VUTEk MCORR printer. The Sign Flow Option allows sending jobs to a specific workspace of the VUTEk printer when the printer is connected using an IP address. For information about configuring a network printer, see Configure a network printer and Configure a network printer and upload file to printer.

Create a .txt file

  1. Open an Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) sheet.
  2. Provide the workspace details in the first row in either of below formats:
    • JOB # <WORKSPACENAME>
    • WorkSpaceName: <WORKSPACENAME>
  3. Provide a file name and copy count separated by a semicolon in subsequent rows in separate columns.

    Examples of the formats shown in step 2 are shown.

    JOB # D15430, PART 1

    baby - Copy ; 10
    Fruit_Another ; -1
    Fruit_New ;
    Another_Job ; 10000
    One_More_Job

    WorkSpaceName: D15430, PART 1

    baby - Copy ; 10
    Fruit_Another ; -1
    Fruit_New ;
    Another_Job ; 10000
    One_More_Job
    Items to note in the example images:
    • A semicolon (;) after the file name denotes that the copy count should be used from the .txt file. A .txt file must be provided with the job.
    • You should provide a semicolon (;) after the file name only if the copy count is provided in the .txt file, otherwise do not provide a semicolon (;).
    Explanation of different formats shown in the example images:
    • Row 1, JOB # or WorkSpace Name, notifies the WorkSpace name (if available or to be created on the printer side) to which the job should be submitted.
    • Row 2 states that file name is baby – Copy (without extension) and it is imported with a copy count set to 10. The job is imported with a copy count set to 10.
    • Row 3 states that file name is Fruit_Another (without extension) and it is imported with a copy count set to -1. The provided copy count is invalid, therefore, the job is imported with a copy count set to 1.
    • Row 4 states that file name is Fruit_New (without extension) and it is imported with a copy count in the .txt file but the value is not provided. Therefore, the job is imported with a copy count set to 1.
    • Row 5 states that file name is Another_Job (without extension) and it is imported with a copy count set to 10,000. The provided copy count is more than 9999, therefore, the job is imported with a copy count set to 9999.
    • Row 6 states that file name is One_More_Job (without extension) and it is imported without a copy count from the .txt file. In this case, the job is imported and a copy count set in the workflow.
  4. Save the Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) sheet as Text (Tab delimited) (*.txt).
