Use a PDF box as a cut contour

Command WorkStation can use a PDF box like TrimBox or a BleedBox as a cut contour.

  1. Do one of the following:
    • In Server Manager: On the Finishing tab, expand the marks panel and click Contour Cutting.
    • In Job Editor: On the Finishing tab, expand the marks panel and click Contour Cutting.
  2. Clear the Extract contour path from EPS/PDF check box.
  3. Double-click Bounding Box and select any of the listed boxes. Instead of extracting a cut contour defined as a single spot color, the cut path is generated based on the size of the selected box.

Keep the following in mind when working with cut contours:

  • It is not possible to extract a cut path from a spot color and a selected box simultaneously. A cut path is generated from either the size of the selected box or the selected spot color layer.
  • For TIFF, JPEG, and other supported image file formats, the Fiery XF server always creates a cut path using the size of the job itself.
  • You can also specify a PDF box for printing. This box must be bigger than or equal to the size of the selected cut box.
