Use FAST Processing or reduce the RIP resolution

FAST Processing uses the GPU to scale from RIP resolution to print resolution to increase job processing speed. If FAST Processing is not available, you can increase output speed by reducing the RIP resolution.

FAST Processing is available only on CUDA-enabled GPUs and Fiery XF servers on which the FAST Processing Option is available. To check if your GPU is CUDA-enabled, in the Server Manager window, go to Server > Resources. To check if the FAST Processing Option is available on your Fiery XF server, in the Server Manager window, go to Server > License & Contract.

Use FAST Processing

  1. To enable FAST Processing, do one of the following:
    • In the Server Manager window, go to Printers > Media > Special Settings.
    • In Job Editor, go to Printer > Special Printer Settings.
  2. Under Print Mode, select a processing speed.

The processing speed depends on the selected FAST Level. A maximum of four FAST Levels are available, depending on the selected printer resolution. The higher the FAST Level selected, the faster the job is processed.

Note: Higher FAST Levels may affect print quality.

Reduce the RIP resolution

If FAST Processing is not available, you can increase output speed by reducing the RIP resolution. However, a lower RIP resolution results in a draft-like print quality.

You cannot process a job at a higher RIP resolution than the print resolution.

  1. In Server Manager: On the sidebar, click Printers, and select a printer. In the printer's tree view, select a workflow. On the File tab, expand the RIP Resolution panel.
  2. Move the slide bar to Fast.
