Common media attributes
Administrators can create substrate catalog entries with either PPD or JDF attributes. The PPD attributes provided to create a substrate catalog entry vary from product to product, so the terminology for the attributes will vary.
When you create a new substrate catalog entry, you must first choose either PPD based settings or JDF based settings. For more information, see Choose substrate catalog settings.

Note the following:
- Sizes and Color Settings are common to both PPD and JDF settings.
- Attribute names may vary depending on what is supported on your Fiery server.
- In the descriptions of the attributes, the terms "paper" or "media" refer to "substrate".
