Spot Pro aliasing spot colors

Spot Pro supports mapping or aliasing spot colors on the Fiery server. Any spot color can be mapped to an alias that creates a fixed link to an existing spot color to ensure that two spot colors use the same color values, even if they have different names.

Advanced users can link or map different or multiple spot colors to one spot color through the alias feature.

With the Alias feature in Spot Pro, you can do the following:
  • Create an alias between one Pantone spot color and another Pantone spot color, or an HKS spot color to Pantone spot color.
  • Create an alias to any custom spot color on the Fiery server.
  • Create multiple alias spot colors to an original spot color present on the Fiery server, without having to add those spot colors on the Fiery server.
  • Delete the alias or spot color and the original spot color will not be deleted.
  • Delete the alias link between one alias or multiple original spot colors if the alias is deleted.
  • View the number and the names of the linked spot colors to the original spot color.
  • Edit an original spot color with an alias link and all links to it will be updated.
Note: The Fiery Graphic Arts Pro Package must be installed on a Fiery server with Fiery system software FS400 Pro or later.
