Apply profile settings
After you make or import measurements in Printer Profiler, the Apply Settings window lets you set the profile’s gamut mapping, separation settings, profile optimization, and viewing condition. You can also load existing settings from a preset (saved settings) or from a profile.
Load existing settings
If you want, you can apply the settings from an existing profile or choose an existing preset (saved settings).
- In the Apply Settings window, click
a profile in the Settings list
or click one of these presets:
Generic CMYK - Default settings for a CMYK printer
EFI VUTEk TX3250r Direct Print - For VUTEk direct media
EFI VUTEk TX3250r Transfer Print - For VUTEk transfer media
Inkjet Default - For lowest dE (Delta E) when profiling an inkjet printer. This is for a profile used for printing proofs.
Toner - Generic black generation for lowest dE when profiling a toner-based printer.
- If a profile does not appear, click Import Settings in the Settings list to locate and select the profile.
Set maximum GCR
The Maximum GCR option automatically sets the separation (black control) settings to maximize the GCR (gray component replacement) of the profile.
Maximum GCR can help to improve the gray balance of prints, achieve better compliance with industry color standards, and maximize the output gamut.
Set profile optimization
The Optimize colorimetric precision option uses optimization to improve colorimetric precision and reduce dE (Delta E) values.
Increasing colorimetric precision can result in less smooth color transitions. Use this option for profiles that are used for printing proofs or for press certification but not for production workflows, where color perception is more important than precision.
Set viewing condition
You can set the color of ambient light used when obtaining color measurements.
Click a setting in the Lighting value list.
Click the plus sign (+) to create your own setting, either by using a measurement instrument or by specifying the XYZ value.
