You can profile a printer that is not connected to a Fiery Server or Fiery XF server or that has a color space other than CMYK by using the Save as
PDF option.
Instead of printing the patch pages in Printer
Profiler, you save them to a PDF file. You must print the PDF file manually before you can measure
the patch pages in Printer Profiler.
- In Color Profiler Suite, start Printer Profiler
and click Print Patches.
- In the Welcome window,
click Save as PDF and select the color space of the
printer.
- Select the instrument, patch layout, and paper
size for creating the measurement pages.
If desired, click Expert Settings to adjust the maximum densities for the colorants and the patch object
type for CMYK or RGB.
- Save the measurement page ID.
- Save the PDF file.
The file is saved in My Documents\Fiery
Color Profiler Suite 4\Patch Pages (Windows) or Documents /Fiery Color Profiler
Suite 4/Patch Pages (Mac OS X).
- Print the PDF file on your printer and retrieve the measurement pages.
- Return to Printer Profiler and follow the on-screen instructions
to measure the measurement pages.
- In the Summary window,
check the results.
- In the Apply Settings
window, select the profile settings or import settings from an existing profile.
- In the Save Profile window,
specify the desired settings.
- Select Save on local
drive.
The profile is created when you click
Next.
