Use a patch ID to select a patch page to measure
Each set of patches receives a tracking ID that lets you set which patch pages to measure. (The ID is printed on the patch pages.) The tracking ID uniquely identifies the set, including all profile information and whether it contains one page or more.
If you already have patch pages to measure when you start Printer Profiler, you can proceed directly to measuring the patch pages. In this case, you must select the patch page ID from a list that contains recently assigned Patch IDs. Information for the selected Patch ID appears in the Patch settings field. You can check that a patch ID is correct by checking the date and time that appear with the patch settings.
If the patch ID does not appear in the list, you can create a new patch ID. The patch ID may not appear in the list for one of the following reasons:
You already measured the patch pages and created the profile. Printer Profiler removes the Patch ID from the list after measuring and saving the corresponding patch pages.
You created the patch pages in another application or on another computer.
You deleted the patch page files before measuring them or saving the measurements.
The first time you use Printer Profiler, no patch pages have been created.
Select the patch ID for your patch pages
To measure a set of patch pages, you first select a patch ID.
- In Color Profiler Suite, start Printer Profiler and click Measure Profiling Patches.
- Click the patch ID in the list.
Create a new patch ID if no ID exists for your patch pages
You can create a new patch ID for existing patch pages by starting to print another set of patch pages and then canceling the print job.
Remove a Patch ID from the list
You delete a patch ID by deleting its corresponding file.
- In Color Profiler Suite, start Printer Profiler and click Measure Profiling Patches.
- Click Manage patch page list in the Select Patch ID list.
- Delete the corresponding file from the folder.
