Work with profile models in Profile Inspector
You can rotate, select points in, zoom, and display an interior cross-section of a model. You can also reset a model to its default position.

View an interior slice of a model
The Clip tool lets you pass an invisible vertical plane through the model from front to back, cutting away the portion it passed through. This creates a cutaway view of the model, which is useful when comparing two profiles.
- Click the Clip icon .
- The first time you use the Clip tool, click to reveal the clipping plane, and then drag up or down to make the clipping plane larger or smaller.
- After the first time you use the tool, you can do either
of the following:
To display the clipping plane, click near the bottom of the modeling area and drag up. (You may have to do this several times before the clipping plane appears.)
To move the clipping plane out of the model, click in the modeling area and drag down.
Select points in a profile model
You can choose points to display their color coordinates in the Measurements area. Profile Inspector inverts the selected point's color to indicate that it is selected.
- Click the Select icon .
- Click the point that you want to select.
