A printer profile is a file describing the capabilities of a printer.

You can exchange profiles (export/import) so that another user can create documents without the need to have access to the physical printer. This allows you to share a document with another user and be confident that they can print it precisely how you intended it to be printed.

All finisher specific options in the Tools pane depend on the printer profile. If the printer profile is selected as the active printer, then the Print button becomes the Save button in the Tools pane, which launches the Save Session dialog box. This allows another user to save the job instead of printing it.
