Export the Substrate Catalog database

Exported databases are saved as .xml files and can be imported back into Substrate Catalog at any time.

Before you replace your Substrate Catalog database or reinstall system software, we recommend that you first back up your existing database by exporting it to a remote location. You can choose to export all entries in the database or a subset.

Note: Only an Administrator can access Substrate Catalog Setup.

Click the Export icon and choose Export All....
If you only want to export some of the media entries, you can select multiple entries in the Substrate Catalog and choose Export Selected.... You can Shift-click to select sequential entries, or Ctrl-click to select nonsequential entries.
Navigate to the location on your computer or network where you want to save the exported database file.
Enter a name for the database file; then click Save.

The exported database is saved as an .xml file.
