Using Fiery Preview

You can preview a job in Fiery Preview. If supported, you can also create different versions if the job has spot colors or layers.

Any PDF or JDF spooled job can be viewed in Fiery Preview.
  1. Open a job in Fiery Preview in one of the following ways:
    • Right-click the job and select Preview.
    • Select the job and choose Preview from the Actions menu.
    • Select the job and click the Preview icon in the toolbar.
The job is displayed in the Fiery Preview window. Thumbnails of the job are displayed in the left pane, and the selected page in the main pane. The Version Editor button is located in the upper right corner of the Fiery Preview window.
  2. In the Fiery Preview window, the menus provided are:
    • File: Preferences and Exit.
    • Preferences: Set the Fiery Preview preferences to factory default.
    • Exit: Exits the window and closes the job without making any changes.

    • View: controls for zooming and navigating through the pages of the job. The viewing options of Fit to window, Fit to width, and Fit to height also have corresponding icons located at the bottom of the window.

You can use the following controls:

    • Scroll bar at the side of the window.
    • Page number navigation at the bottom of the window.
    • Zoom control slider at the bottom of the window.
The following icons are located in the upper left hand corner of the Fiery Preview window:
    • Pointer (arrow): Selects a page.
    • Pan tool (hand): Moves the job around the window.
    • Zoom tool (magnifying glass): Zooms in and out.
  3. To view the spot colors, layers and versions of a job, click the Version Editor button.
Note: The availability of Version Editor depends on whether it is supported on your Fiery server.
