Edit black controls for Fiery Edge profiles
The black controls settings control how to handle black in the output for Fiery Edge default profiles.
After you select a Fiery Edge default
profile, the Apply Settings window lets you access
black controls for the profile. Apply the black controls settings to
measurements.
Note: Change the settings only if the
default settings do not provide satisfactory results. If you are profiling a Fiery server, the default settings are the optimal
settings for this type of Fiery server.
- In the Apply settings window, click Edit Black Controls.

Click the tabs to specify values
for the following:
- Black controls: basic black controls, including maximum black ink, black start, black generation, and black width.
- Advanced black controls: maximum total ink, ink amounts at black, and black usage at gamut surface.
- Perceptual options: perceptual mapping effects, including chroma and shadow lightness.
- Saturation options: presentation (saturation) mapping effects, including chroma and shadow lightness.
- Processing: input data and table smoothing, illuminant and table sizes.
