Profile a Fiery Server

You can create a profile for a printer connected to a Fiery Server. The Fiery Server must be accessible from your computer over the network.

  1. In Color Profiler Suite, start Printer Profiler and click Print Patches.
  2. In the Welcome window, click Select Fiery Server, select the Fiery Server from the list.

If the Fiery Server is not in the list, click the plus sign to add it using the IP address or by searching.

  3. For calibration, click the appropriate option.
    • Create new calibration setting - If you are profiling a new paper type for the Fiery Server.
    • Use existing calibration setting - If you are profiling a paper that is very similar to a paper whose output profile already exists on the Fiery Server. In this case, select the calibration setting that is associated with that profile.

Select Skip calibration only if this calibration setting is up-to-date. (The Fiery Server was calibrated recently for this calibration setting.) In this case, go to step 8.

  4. Select the instrument, patch layout, and paper size for printing the calibration page. We also recommend warming up the printer by printing at least 10 warmup pages.
  5. Specify print settings and click OK. Specify settings that affect color, such as halftone, but do not change any settings on the Color tab. The calibration page and the profiling page will be printed with the same settings.
  6. Retrieve the pages from the printer and follow the on-screen instructions to measure the calibration page. (Discard any warmup pages.)
  7. View the measurement results and click Next.
  8. Select the instrument, patch layout, and paper size for printing the profiling measurement pages. If you want to measure multiple sets of pages and then average the measurements into one set of data for creating the profile, specify the number of page sets to print.
  9. Save the measurement page ID.
  10. Retrieve the measurement pages from the printer and follow the on-screen instructions to measure them.
  11. Save the measurements.
  12. In the Summary window, check the results.

Click Average measurements to view all measurement sets and proceed to measuring the next set, if any.

  13. In the Apply Settings window, select the profile settings or import settings from an existing profile.
  14. In the Save Profile window, specify the desired settings. Confirm that Install on Fiery Server is selected and that the correct Fiery Server is selected.

The profile is created when you click Next.

The profile is installed on the Fiery Server.
