Fiery Impose and Fiery Compose, or Fiery JobMaster support APPE (Adobe PDF Print Engine), a PDF-based processor that allows direct processing of PDF jobs without conversion to PostScript.

You turn on APPE in Configure in Command WorkStation, and you can turn it off on a per-job basis in Job Properties.

If Sheet Size is specified through Mixed media in Normal, Booklet, or Gangup product intents, then the job is processed through CPSI (Configurable PostScript Interpreter) rather than through APPE.

These restrictions apply for imposed jobs in Job Properties:

• N-up jobs with the Print border option

• 1-up Perfect binding jobs inside the Booklet layout option

Jobs using non-supported features are processed through the PostScript interpreter.
