You can create multiple copies (clones) of a job and use the flip,
offset/drop, and rotate settings to create a seamless pattern repeat.
Before you begin: Make all job settings
before you create a step and repeat. You cannot modify the original job after you have
created a step and repeat. If you want to modify the original job, you must delete all
the copies first.
-
In Job Editor: On the Layout tab, expand the Step and
Repeat panel. In the panel header bar, select the check box to
activate the settings.
If you cannot activate the settings, make sure that the job width is less than
the substrate width. You cannot create a step and repeat from a job that is
equal to or wider than the width of the selected substrate. In this case, either
scale the job down, or select a wider substrate.
-
Under Offset/Drop, define the amount of horizontal or
vertical shift. Do one of the following:
- Drop size: Select the amount of drop as a fraction of the image width or
height. As an example, 1/1 equals no shift, 1/2 equals a 50% shift, and 1/4
equals a 25% shift.
- Percentage (%): Type the required amount of drop as a fraction of the
image width or height if you do not want to use one of the fixed drop
sizes.
- Custom: Type the required amount of vertical or horizontal drop in the
unit of measurement selected for Job Editor.
-
Under Repeat size, select the required number of
horizontal and vertical copies.
- In a vertical direction, you can:
- Fill the media width
- Type the number of
repeats
- Define a custom width
- In a horizontal direction, you can:
- Type the number of
repeats
- Define a custom height
