Using Fiery Preview

You can preview any PDF or JDF spooled job in Fiery Preview.

Additionally, you can use Version Editor to create different versions if the job has spot colors or layers.

  1. Open a job in Fiery Preview in one of the following ways:
    • Right-click the job and select Preview.
    • Select the job and choose Preview from the Actions menu.
    • Select the job and click the Preview icon in the toolbar.
    The job appears in the Fiery Preview window. Thumbnails of the job display in the left pane, and the selected page in the main pane.

    The Version Editor button is available in the upper-right corner of the Fiery Preview window.

  2. In the Fiery Preview window, the menus provided are:
    • File: Preferences and Exit.
      • Preferences: Set the Fiery Preview preferences to factory default.
      • Exit: Exits the window and closes the job without making any changes.
    • View: controls for zooming and navigating through the pages of the job. The viewing options of Fit to window, Fit to width, and Fit to height have corresponding icons in the lower-right corner of the window.
    • Help: Opens the Fiery Preview Help.

    You can use the following controls:

    • Scroll bar at the side of the window.
    • Page number navigation at the bottom of the window.
    • Zoom control slider and the drop-down menu to select zoom percentage at the bottom of the window.
    The following icons are available in the upper-left corner of the Fiery Preview window:
    • Pointer (arrow): Selects a page.
    • Pan tool (hand): Moves the job around the window.
    • Zoom tool (magnifying glass): Zooms in and out.
  3. To view the spot colors, layers and versions of a job, click Version Editor.
