Adjusting an image

To adjust images, use the features in the Adjustments pane available in the Preview tab or the Split tab. Several tools are provided to help you make adjustments.

When making adjustments, you can either:

  • Apply a preset to the image.

  • Edit the settings in the Adjustments pane as you want. Not all settings may be available for your image.

Note: Some job properties that do not affect the appearance of images, such as finishing options, might not be applied to the proof print.

The most common settings for image enhancement are:

  • Brightness: Increases or decreases the brightness of an image.

  • Contrast: Increases or decreases the contrast of an image.

  • Definition: Increases or decreases the amount of definition (detail) in an image without affecting the amount of contrast in the image.
