Create or edit a tolerance set

You can create a tolerance set to specify the highest acceptable error margin when verifying the color accuracy of the printout against a reference.

Note: To edit a tolerance preset, you need to use Verifier or can make use of the tolerance preset editing capabilities in Server Manager.

You can define acceptable limits in different dE formula (dE 2000, dE 76, dE CMC 1:1, dE 94, CMC 2:1) for the following:

  • General dE limits
  • Primary color dE limits
  • Hue difference dH limits
  • Tone value difference tolerance limits
  • Chromaticness difference dCh limits
  • Spot color dE limits
  1. Select Edit > Tolerance Set Editor.

The Tolerance Set Editor window opens.

  2. Under Tolerance set, click the Duplicate button.

A copy of the selected tolerance set is created.

  3. Select a dE formula.
  4. Define custom tolerance limits by editing the default values.

To edit a value, select the check box next to the tolerance criterion you want to edit.

  5. Select either Warn or Fail to specify how Fiery Verify will indicate when a measurement exceeds the limit.

Warn is informative only and will still allow the comparison to pass. Fail will cause the entire comparison to fail.

  6. Click Save.
