Configure a printer for bidirectional communication

You can configure Command WorkStation to receive information about media consumption and ink consumption from the printer. You need one output license for each physical printer.

Before you begin: Make sure that bidirectional communication is started.

Command WorkStation saves processed jobs to the following default folders:

IP printing: C:\ProgramData\EFI\EFI XF\JDF\UploadFiles
Print to file: C:\ProgramData\EFI\EFI XF\Server\Export

The printer retrieves them from this folder. You can change the file path setting, if required.

In Server Manager: Add a printer.

EFI VUTEk printers: Configure the printer to print through the IP network.
EFI Matan or EFI Reggiani printers: Configure the printer to print to file. You can also enter a user name and a password in order to access password-protected network shares.
