Print a calibration page for measurement

When you print a calibration page, specify the measurement instrument and chart size.

Calibrate the spectrophotometer to prepare it for measuring the calibration page.

Note:

At least one manual spectrophotometer is always offered, for example the Fiery ES-3000. Spectrophotometer measurement instruments are the most precise.

Some inline instruments are based on scanners needing their inks to be calibrated against the paper for best results. This is often referred to as "training". When a pair of measurement instruments is listed in the menu, the inline instrument and the inline instrument with the spectrophotometer. The setting with both instruments will create more accurate color thereafter by reusing a table optimized for your paper and inks.

  1. In the Patch Layout window, set the following options:
    • Select a measurement instrument in the Instrument list.

    • Select a patch page size in the Chart size list.

      Click Custom to specify a custom patch page size.

  2. Click Print to print patch pages and proceed to measurement.

    Follow the on-screen instructions to measure the calibration page.
