Print patch pages for profiling
To create a profile in Fiery Printer Profiler, you must specify print options and other settings for sending the patch pages to the printer.
If you plan to print multiple sets of patch pages and average the measurements, you can specify the number of sets. (You can use the average of the measurements to create the profile.)
- In the Print Settings window, select the measurement instrument in the Instrument list.
- (Optional) If you want to make specific settings for the measurement instrument, click Settings.
-
(Optional) If you want to make specific settings for the patch layout page when
using large patches, click Patch
settings.
The patch layout can be changed for a Fiery XF server version 7.0 or later when using the inline calender attachment. Use of the inline calender can cause outgassing that affects the original color patch pages used for calibration. Color patch pages with increased spacing between the rows are substituted for the original color patch pages.
You can change the patch layout settings when connected to the following measurements intruments only:- EFI ES-2000

Dynamically generated patch layout charts are listed in order of the number of patches. You can choose from four patch layouts.

- IT8.7/5 (1617 patches) - The 1617 target is a CMYK printer characterization target combining the unique patch values in the standard IT8.7/4 target with all the patch values in columns 4 and 5 of the P2P51 target.
- IT8.7/4 (1617 patches) or IT8.7/4 (1617 sorted layout) - Are similar to the 928-patch layouts but provide more data. The sorted layout helps to reduce potential bias caused by color variation across the page.
Note: To use a patch layout that is not available in Printer Profiler, you can print and measure patch pages with Verifier and then import the measurements in Printer Profiler. - Recommended
