Fiery Print Matcher lays out color patches on measurement pages depends on the measurement instrument, patch layout, and paper size that you specify.

1. In the Instrument menu, click the instrument to use.
2. (Optional) To make specific settings for the instrument, click Settings.
3. Click a patch layout in the Patch layout menu.
   • Fiery Edge Exclusive v2 (1902 patches) - The 1902 target is similar to the 1617 target and is designed to provide high-precision characterization that is optimized for the Fiery Edge profiler.
     Note: When Fiery Edge Exclusive v2 (1902 patches) is selected, the Fiery Edge profiles are shown in the Fiery Edge factory default profiles section in the Settings list. When importing a profile, be sure to import a profile created with the Fiery Edge profiler or select one of the profiles listed in the Fiery Edge factory default profiles list.

   • CGATS IT8.7/5 (1617 patches) - The 1617 target is a CMYK printer characterization target combining the unique patch values in the standard IT8.7/4 target with all the patch values in columns 4 and 5 of the P2P51 target.

   • CGATS IT8.7/4 (1617 patches) or CGATS IT8.7/4 (1617 random) - Are similar to the 928-patch layouts but provide more data. The random layout helps to reduce potential bias caused by color variation across the page.

   • IT8.7/3 (928 patches) - Produces high-quality results on most printers. If you are unsure of your printer’s color response, use the 928-patch layout to ensure higher quality.

   • Small Chart (234 patches) - Is fast to use and produces high-quality results with most printers that have a smooth color response.

   • Minimal Chart (46 patches) - Provides the fastest profiling method using a handheld instrument. With this layout, additional data is mathematically calculated to ensure the quality of the resulting profile.

4. Click Set number of warmup pages and then set a number.
