Configure FTP

Enabling FTP services allows users to send jobs to an FTP server so that other users can share those jobs.

The Fiery server supports an FTP proxy that uses the connection format "target_username@target_system_name / target_username@target_ip_address". Other connection types may not work properly.

  1. From Configure, choose Job Submission > FTP Printing.
  2. Select Use FTP Passive Mode for outbound connection if you are using an external FTP server.
  3. Select Enable FTP Printing.
  4. In the Default FTP Queue list, select the print connection on the Fiery server to which FTP jobs are sent.

This field lists the Print queue and Hold queue, and any published virtual printers (if supported by your Fiery server).

  5. To require a valid user name and password to print a document, select Require Password for Printing.

The user name and password must be authorized by the administrator.

  6. Specify the FTP timeout.
  7. Save your changes.
