Direction controls let you specify whether a text frame uses
right-to-left or left-to-right paragraph flow. You must set the text direction explicitly
because automatic language detection is not available.
-
Select a variable text frame in your document.
-
Set the paragraph direction to RTL.
Note: When you set a text frame to RTL, text anchors at
the right edge and is right-aligned by default.
-
If the text frame contains mixed RTL and LTR content (for example, Hebrew text
with embedded English words, numbers, or URLs), verify that the bidirectional
text renders in the correct reading order. Numbers maintain their internal
left-to-right order but position correctly within the RTL flow.
